Carousel achieves finalist status for The Logistics Awards

Carousel, a pan-European service logistics specialist that keeps world-class businesses moving, was named as a finalist in two of the award categories for The Logistics Awards.

The Logistics Awards, which started in 2014, takes place every year, celebrating the outstanding achievements in the logistics and supply chain sectors for the last 12 months. The awards are open to Logistics Operators and companies where logistics plays a part in their operations. There are 12 different categories companies can submit entries to, from innovation, to operations, and warehouse efficiency.

The winners of The Logistics Awards were announced on 3 March 2021. You can see the full list of winners here: https://www.shdlogistics.com/logistics-awards/logistics-awards-winners-announced.

Carousel were shortlisted for the following awards:

  • Above and Beyond award. This category was introduced exclusively for the 2020 awards for companies to demonstrate how they had gone the extra mile adapting their operations and processes reflective of the COVID-19 pandemic. Carousel focused it’s COVID-19 strategy on protecting Team Carousel, establishing an Incident Response Team, stabilising the supply-chain, scenario planning and ensuring consistent communication both externally and internally. Implementing this pro-active approach demonstrated the dedication and commitment to keeping time critical parts, products and equipment moving for clients during the pandemic, and to keep Team Carousel safe.
  • Innovation award in collaboration with client Merlo Group. This category gives companies the opportunity to demonstrate the value derived from a personalised logistics solution. The final mile solution Carousel designed for Merlo, underpinned by the Gateway® platform, was implemented just days before the UK’s lockdown in March 2020. Gateway® gives both Merlo and its customers 100% visibility and control through one digital experience. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, after just a few months of the partnership starting, Merlo soon recognised the savings in administration time, a net-increase in parts turnover and customer service levels in excess of 95%.

This was the second consecutive year that Carousel made it to the finalist stage. In 2019 Carousel was announced as the winner of the Growth category.

Jonathan Simpson-Dent, CEO at Carousel said, “We’re so proud to have been shortlisted as finalists in two of the award categories this year. It’s a great testament to the work that Team Carousel carry out day in, day out, for our clients. 2020 certainly presented us with challenging times, some of which have continued into 2021, particularly in the logistics industry. I’m so proud of the team and I continue to be impressed by the dedication and the ‘Whatever it takes, &more’ approach that Team Carousel demonstrate, to keep service-critical logistics moving for our clients.

I know I speak on behalf of all of Team Carousel when I say that we’re delighted to have been recognised for both award categories.”

Robin Cooch, National Parts Manager at Merlo Group said, “The Merlo Group have been industry innovators in the design of their machinery from day one, so when it came to looking for a solution to our Dealer Network ‘Final Mile’ deliveries it made perfect sense to work with a likeminded innovative company.

The team at Carousel were fantastic when it came to creating a service that worked for us and since our partnership began, we have seen our Customer Service and Customers experience improve to a consistently high level.”
