Brexit: What’s the update

27 March 2019

With things like they are, you can be forgiven for not being completely up to date on all things Brexit. After all, we seem to have more options than ever on the table, including a delay and a new possible date for when we leave the European Union.

But what do all the recent political updates mean for you?

One thing we do know is that we will not leave the EU on 29 March 2019. Yet, while the timetable may have shifted, we are here to provide expert advice and will continue to operate a ‘business as normal’ operation until a decision on next steps are announced.

Though an element of the unknown does remain, we will use this extra time to further prepare our operations - for all eventualities of Brexit - and continue supporting our clients in their preparations too.

If you have any outstanding queries or questions, or need help getting a Brexit strategy in place, then we urge you to get in touch today.  A ‘no deal’ Brexit is still very much a possibility, so we highly recommend preparing for a hard Brexit, which could come as soon as the 12 April.
We can take you through a process, step by step, to prepare your logistics for Brexit. We’ll help you get everything aligned in the most efficient way and keep you updated on new announcements, rules and procedures as and when they get announced.

What do we do now?

There are some key steps you can be doing now, to get ready:

  • Register for your EORI number: You can register now for TSP and an EORI number will be required to do so. It’s free to do and the online EORI application form takes just ten minutes to fill out
  • Register for TSP: you can do this here
  • Set-up a deferment account with HMRC
  • Get ready to make declaration through a customs agent
  • Speak to an expert for more support and advice.
